River Alive!
Project
River Alive! is a permanent interactive exhibition at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia that celebrates the Delaware River Watershed—a critical habitat for countless plants and animals, including 17 million humans. Handymakes worked with project lead and creative director Habithèque Inc., exhibit designer and long-time collaborator Hands On! Studio, and Emmy Award-winning media firm Bluecadet to develop an experience that blends hands-on challenges, interactive media, live exhibits, citizen science, and programming spaces. These experiences make River Alive! a place of collaboration and conversation about the Delaware River Watershed, the science we use to understand and protect it, and the power we have to help it thrive. News > River Alive! Honored for Excellence!
In May 2020, the American Alliance of Museums honored River Alive! with its award for Special Achievement in Interactivity as part of its 32nd Annual Excellence in Exhibition Awards. We're thrilled to have our work making environmental issues accessible be recognized by this esteemed group, which represents more than 4,000 museum partners. |
